The Monitoring Department conducts a systematic review of the information space of the Republic of Kazakhstan, enabling the prompt identification of important socio-political events and trends, as well as an effective response to them.
The Department’s experts carry out regular monitoring of the activities of political parties, public associations and organizations, and public opinion leaders. Systematic analysis of the information environment makes it possible to identify potential risks and problem areas.
As part of analytical support, the Department conducts monitoring of regional issues, allowing for an assessment of the socio-political and socio-economic situation on the ground.
The Department also prepares situational analytical materials that are used for operational decision-making.
In its work, the Department uses a domestic information and analytical system that processes materials from approximately 10,000 Kazakhstani and foreign media outlets, as well as content from more than 250 online communities and channels on platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Telegram, and others. Automated monitoring is complemented by manual rapid monitoring.
Based on the collected data, operational analytics are produced on current information trends, along with recommendations for improving media outreach, “intercepting” information initiatives, and building engagement with experts, bloggers, and public opinion leaders.
Information and analytical materials prepared by the Department’s experts are provided to the Party leadership, members of the Party’s parliamentary faction in the Mazhilis, and regional branches for further use in their work. Monitoring data are used in the preparation of parliamentary inquiries, during regional field visits, and by regional branches to address the most pressing issues faced by local communities.
Formats for presenting materials include express briefs, digests, reviews, contextual analysis, qualitative analysis, and others.
The Department has developed a unique archive of materials, enabling the tracking of the dynamics of key issues and the identification of long-term trends.
Key Functions of the Monitoring Department:
- Timely and prompt informing of the leadership about the current situation and significant events discussed in the media and social networks.
- Preparation of regular reports based on media and social media monitoring.
