The Department of Political Analysis conducts research and forecasting of socio-political processes in Kazakhstan, as well as the development of the country’s political system and party landscape.

The Department prepares information and analytical materials on key events in the global and domestic political agenda.

The Department develops methodological materials on socio-political topics, which are distributed among Party members.

Employees of the Department take an active part in various expert platforms, including television formats, and publish their commentaries in the media.

Umirzakov Medet

Head of Department

A sociologist and a lawyer, holding a Master’s degree in Social Sciences. Completed a research internship at Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg (Germany) as part of his Master’s program.

In 2018, as part of professional development, he completed training at the School of Political Management on the topic of “Political and Party Management.”

Co-developer of the methodology for the National Corruption Perception Index, and co-author of the Index of a Fair Kazakhstan, the National Index of Zero Tolerance for Offenses, as well as the Index of Political Ambitions of Women in Kazakhstan.

Proficient in data analysis tools using the SPSS statistical software. Has experience participating in electoral campaigns during the Presidential elections (2019, 2022), Parliamentary elections (2021, 2023), as well as the Referendum on the construction of a nuclear power plant in Kazakhstan (2024).

Research interests include applied sociology, electoral sociology, and quantitative data analysis.

He has been awarded Letters of Gratitude from the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, as well as the “For Active Service” badge of distinction (2022).

Berkutova Ekaterina

A political scientist, Master of Social Sciences and a doctoral candidate in Political Science at L.N.Gumilyov Eurasian National University, a graduate the School of Analytics under the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

She is the author of the report “Key Outlines of Regional Policy of the Republic of Kazakhstan: Strategic Planning, Governance and Economy” (2015) and the analytical review “Modern Perceptions of Integration in the Republic of Kazakhstan (A Review of Kazakh- and Russian-Language Press)” (2013). She is also a co-author of the analytical report “President. Elections. A New Political Era” (2022), as well as several academic articles, co-author of the Index of Political Ambitions of Women in Kazakhstan.

Her research interests include domestic policy, regional governance, environmental and gender issues.

She has been awarded Letters of Gratitude from the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

Akhmedi Erlan

A political expert. Author of the books “The Orator of the 21st Century: 77 Tips,” “Power: The Grey Cardinal,” the comic book “Captain Qazaqstan,” and co-author of the analytical report “President. Elections. A New Political Era” (2022).

His research interests include the domestic and foreign policy of Kazakhstan, international relations, and the political history of the United States.

He is a participant in various political talk shows and programs on national television channels, including ‘Khabar 24’, ‘Khabar’, ‘Astana TV’, ‘Qazaqstan’, ‘Pervyj kanal Evrazija’ and ‘Almaty TV’ (“Bizdin maqsat,” “Kyn tәrtіbіnde,” “Sarap Times,” “Uaqyt Keldi,” “Bygin,” “Ashyq Alań,” “Bolshaya Nedelya” and others).

He is the author of articles in national media outlets (Aiqyn, Liter, Egemen Qazaqstan, Kazakhstanskaya Pravda) on the topic of Kazakhstan’s domestic politics.

Tokenov Abdulla

A doctoral candidate of the educational program “Diplomacy and Management in Ethnopolitics” at L.N.Gumilyov Eurasian National University. Holds a Master of Public Administration (Nazarbayev University) and completed an internship at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy at the National University of Singapore. A scholarship recipient of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation’s ‘Sur-Place program. A graduate of the School of Analytics under the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

His research interests include public administration, social capital, and the development of political parties.

He has been awarded Letters of Gratitude from the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, as well as from the Party leadership for his contribution to electoral campaigns.
